Custom Illustrations
Friendly drawings and designs with plenty of character so you can be recognised and remembered on-line.
How much I will charge depends on a number of things including how much time the drawing will take me and how it will be used. I list here a number of things I get asked about regularly to give you an idea.
1. Simple illustration
For instance: an avatar for Twitter, a basic logo image, or a unique “sign up” or “subscribe” button. This category is for images that don’t have much detail and are black and white or have flat colours (rather than more complex shading and textures).
$50 – $68 (US Dollars. You can also pay in GB Pounds if you prefer.)
Contact me and let me know what you’re after.
Examples:
Builder logo
Kitten Time
2. Portrait or mascot
For example, a cartoon portrait, a mascot for a website, or a unique header for a blog. These are images with more detail, more than one character, textures, colour, etc. You will get web sized images and print ready files if you need them. I can also send you a print, for instance if you’re giving a cartoon portrait as a gift. The price of a print will depend on the size.
Examples:
Budgie mascot
Baby T-rex
Rockstar Portrait
3. Website design kit
This will include:
- A header image with your title and tagline
- A site background
- A favicon (a tiny icon used by browsers)
- A portrait of you, or a mascot to use alongside or instead of a photo
- A mini portrait to use with social media
- Up to 4 buttons for subscription options or social media linkage
- 2 additional illustrations for different pages (or, for instance, for your Twitter background)
From $370 to $440
The price depends on how much technical assistance you need. The service I can provide runs from: “here are your image files, good luck” to “I’ve installed your new theme, let me know if you find anything that isn’t working right”. If the website package isn’t quite the right fit, or you only want certain parts, let me know. I can put together a special mini package for you. Or a maxi package. Whatever you need.

More about me
I’m Willie Hewes, I have been drawing comics since 2002 and started drawing-on-commission a few years later. My style has developed into the clean and simple thing you see here. I love drawing funny faces and unique creatures.
I generally work with ink and paper, but for colour I often rely on digital shenanigans. I also work with coloured pencils and alcohol based art markers. They smell nice.
For more samples of my work, please visit the gallery. It’s updated regularly with new drawings.

“Oh by the gods they’re fantastic. Glorious! AWESOME.”
Catherine Caine, Be Awesome Online.
We originally commissioned 3 drawings from Willie, of our dog and cat in various poses. We were so impressed that we commissioned a 4th picture to include our new puppy 2 years after the first were done.
The drawings are now in frames in pride of place in our dining room, they are absolute originals, and we love them. We’d recommend Willie to anyone wanting original artwork.

Looking for something slightly different?
Of course, what you’re after may be something different. You may be looking for a group portrait of your knitting circle, or a twitter background, or a series of cartoons for your newsletter, or something else I never even thought of.
If you want a large number of images, like a series, or a number of illustrations for an e-book, I may be able to give you a bulk discount depending on the size of the job.
Click the contact button to send me a quick message, or get in touch via e-mail: willie@williehewes.com. I know asking for quotes can be slightly scary, so I offer a special no obligations and no weirdness guarantee. It goes like this:
No weirdness. We can still be friends if you decide to go with someone else or you change your mind. Like, totally.
You can also have a look at my Terms and Conditions if you’re wondering about copyright or other legal issues.
Final note: if you have a specific budget, tell me. Sometimes there are creative ways to do more with less and give you what you want while staying within the limits of your budget.
