History:
I was born a little Dutch girl and lived among the tulips with my parents, two brothers and a sister. I was a rambler, a voracious reader and could not go a day without making something out of something. Sometimes my materials were normal things like coloured paper or beads, sometimes they included soap, grass, dead insects or sugarcubes. Mixed media, you see.
I went to university in the same pleace Lemuel Gulliver got his education: Leiden University. Studying at a university whose most famous graduate is not only fictional but a famous fabricator of lies may have damaged my respect for the True and the Real, but certainly didn’t dampen my enthusiasm for stories. I wrote, and soon combined my writing with my drawing and started making comics.
These days I live in Bristol, in England. It’s a dirty, jealous city but I love it for its street art. Secretly, I want to move to the country and live in a canal boat, but for now, we put up with each other, the city and I.
I draw, I write, I make things, and I sell my time to the civil service while hatching an escape plan.

Yup.
